Denton Gentry
Senior Vice President, Software and Firmware Architecture
Denton Gentry is Senior Vice President of Software & Firmware Architecture at EVgo, leading the technical design and operational readiness of software systems involved in running EVgo’s nationwide network of fast chargers.
Prior to joining EVgo, Mr. Gentry headed Engineering at Tailscale and several earlier startup companies and he developed software and hardware technology for climate action efforts at Project Drawdown, Frost Methane, and Decarbon Earth. Previously Mr. Gentry led embedded device and backend software development teams at Google Fiber, which were instrumental in operating the Fiber service. Earlier work included networking products at Google Platforms, Extreme Networks, and Sun Microsystems.
Mr. Gentry holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
