Position Summary:

EVgo is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team to support our dynamic and growing business environment. The Staff Accountant will use their education and experience to support various financial functions. The successful candidate will conduct their work with efficiency, accuracy, and integrity.  This position will support the overall accounting operations including month end closing and accurate preparation of financial accounting results.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with costing and tracking of expenditures related to inventory and CIP in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Assist with costing and tracking of fixed assets and related depreciation within the NetSuite module to prepare related journal entries, accruals, and month-end costs related to FA, CIP, and inventory
  • Assist with roll-forward schedules specifically for inventory, CIP, & FA
  • Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing assistance including but not limited to:
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
    • Prepare and book journal entries
    • Ensure proper backup documentation
  • Interface and communicate with management in various departments, including engineering, field operations, construction, and IT, to ensure proper classification of CIP, FA, and inventory
  • Provide month-end analysis on changes and or variances on financial results as it relates to CIP, FA, and inventory accounts
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end audit schedules as requested by external auditors
  • Ownership of other daily operational tasks, audit support, ad hoc reporting, and special projects

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus
  • 1-2 years of accounting work experience, (within CIP and/or Fixed Assets a plus)
  • ERP systems experience (NetSuite – a plus)
  • Expert at Journal Entries and General Ledger movement
  • Demonstrated Excel skills (VLookup, pivot tables, sumif, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deadline oriented and excellent time management skills to keep up with a fast-paced environment
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with all levels in the organization
