PlugShare, a wholly owned subsidiary of EVgo, is home to the largest community of EV drivers in the world, with a community of over 3MM EV drivers who rely on us to plan their journeys and public charging stops. Every day, drivers add more station locations, constantly making the app more comprehensive and accurate. From within the app., users check-in when they charge, sharing tips, comments, reviews and photos of their charging experiences.  Drivers, automakers, utilities, and the rest of the EV community rely on our comprehensive public charging dataset to power their navigation systems and guide their decision-making. We amplify the voice of the driver through PlugInsights, the world’s largest survey research panel of EV owners and leasers, and developed Pay with PlugShare (PWPS), a mobile payment platform enabling seamless and reliable payment for multiple charging networks through a single app. We also provide in-app and web advertising and digital marketing services to give brands and marketers access to the largest EV driver audience.

Position Summary:

The Vice President, PlugShare reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible to lead the PlugShare business unit to drive app growth and usage, deliver revenue and monetization from PlugShare’s core business offerings, as well as and manage the team to scale. The successful candidate will bring experience, energy, and astute management acumen to developing new business partnerships and growing existing arrangements; managing the pipeline and leading internal reporting and projections; unlocking new revenue opportunities; and bringing creativity to tackle new opportunities. The VP of PlugShare will provide leadership in the development and management of strategic commercial initiatives within current and potential verticals and will offer key inputs into product line management across. The VP is ultimately responsible for achieving revenue targets and profit objectives within the parameters of the annual business plan.

They will partner with other senior leaders within PlugShare and across EVgo to inform commercial strategy, develop and track objectives and key results (OKRs), report on key metrics, and maximize the team’s performance.

The leadership mandate of the VP and General Manager of PlugShare will include the following:

Establish the commercial vision

  • Oversee the development and execution of the strategic plan for PlugShare app growth, usage and monetization
  • Lead the PlugShare business unit to drive revenue delivery and support PlugShare’s strategic growth
  • Lead OKR development and management of the commercial and business development initiatives

Drive commercial execution

  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the team and on the product and commercial roadmap
  • Directly engage with key commercial partners and support deal strategy as well as individual negotiations
  • Maintain and improve key customer relationships
  • Implement internal processes to complement existing SOPs, including deal approvals
  • Provide research and reporting to executive leadership
  • Coordinate with the technical leadership of PlugShare and broader teams at EVgo to improve on existing offerings and inform new developments
  • Create and implement business plans for new product offerings
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to PlugShare and other EVgo leadership and be a surrogate as needed
  • Engage with EV stakeholders, including automakers, charging networks, utilities, and driver organizations to understand evolving market dynamics
  • Continuously push to promote EV adoption through the world’s largest online platform for EV drivers
  • Represent the organization externally, as needed.

  • Recruit, retain, and motivate top performers and provide the leadership that promotes an environment of teamwork, inspired motivation, and success
  • Coach direct reports and extended staff to optimize their operations and long-term development in support of their careers and the broader strategy
  • Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization

Required Skills and Experience

We seek a seasoned and collaborative commercial leader who will be energized by the dynamism inherent in the fast-growing electric vehicle sector with strong capabilities around both strategy and execution. Required skills and experience include:

  • Consumer App growth and monetization
  • Leadership in business development and contract negotiation
  • Broad-based consumer marketing and advertising
  • General management, including P&L delivery
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and agility
  • Close collaboration with PM team to influence product roadmap
  • Excellent people management, coaching and development experience
