Position Summary:

EVgo is seeking a key leader of the Business Development, Fleets team to focus on go-to-market strategy, business development, and customer engagement for current and potential fleet partners. The team targets a range of fleet partners with a regional/national footprint who are interested in owning/operating and/or leasing EV charging infrastructure. The role will be responsible for managing a team to execute on identifying market opportunities, building senior-level customer relationships, driving pipeline opportunities from prospecting to contract negotiations, and delivering near-term revenue. In addition, the position is responsible for managing day-to-day fleet team BD operations, managing channel partnerships, and demonstrating industry thought leadership in the field. Based remotely, this position reports to our Sr. Director, Business Development, Fleets a direct report of EVgo’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 2-4 business development professionals focused on fleet activities.
  • Implement strategic growth plans from inception.  Prospecting, engagement, and negotiations for the closing of fleet opportunities.
  • Develop a pipeline of fleet opportunities across outbound and inbound.
  • Cross-functional management of fleet-related RFI, RFP, and/or RFQ submissions as well as direct customer proposals and partner relationships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across internal stakeholders including Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Engineering/Construction.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience across Business Development, Sales, Consulting, Finance, and/or Startup positions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team of business development, sales, and/or operations professionals including pipeline management, account strategy, customer presentations, and RFP/RFI/RFQ proposal oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach and build relationships among C-Suite and VP-level fleet customers.
  • Experience with making data-driven business cases including market assessments, financial returns, and framing of customer value. Salesforce/CRM expertise is a bonus.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to understand and translate technical solutions ranging from hardware, software, and services with a history of working closely with product/solution/operations teams.
  • Knowledge and relationships in the mobility, transportation, energy, and/or cleantech industries with a passion for solving complex climate-related problems.
  • Willingness to travel to engage face-to-face with customers.
