Position Summary

EVgo is looking for a User-Experience (UX) and User-Interface (UI) Team Lead, to work both within the design department and cross-functionally to develop sophisticated user experiences across our various digital platforms. In taking the lead, they will collaborate, mentor, and support other design team members to help the team scale as we add new products and features to our portfolio. The Team Lead will build systems and processes that further enable the design team to conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translate them into elegant user flows, customer journey maps, wire frames, mock ups and prototypes. In addition, the Team Lead will design for EVgo’s latest product coming to marketing mid next year.

Requirements
•Translate concepts into user flows, wire frames, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences a wide range of devices and interfaces.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates your experience, storytelling, and design presentation skills
• Prior experience in reviewing existing design systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop UX recommendations
• Building a UX / UI style guide. Setting and maintaining UX / UI design standards
• Empower and mentor designers in the team, fostering a collaborative, productive, and positive environment within a growing team
• Maintain and further build design team workflows that ensure that all designs delivered are in line with style guides and are of high-quality standards
• Able to build design systems and components libraries to help the Design team grow; Adept at maintaining design systems and aligning to Design team goals
• Able to manage self and others to stay on track with a project; Ensure that the projects are delivered on a timely manner
• Prior exposure to UX research, including planning, designing, and facilitating user sessions and client workshops, analyzing findings, and articulating results
• Leads collaboration within a team, including providing clear feedback to other designers, developing presentations, and other design assets
• Demonstrates ability to act as a coach or mentor to less experienced team members
• Strong eye for detail and managing design through to hand off
• Strong knowledge of the HIG, Material, and other design frameworks
• Ability to mentor other designers and keep up with the latest design trends
• Able to quickly identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
• Works within an agile software development environment able to deliver required designs on schedule
• Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas

Qualifications
5+ years of UI/UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience leading design teams and designing complex solutions for complete digital environments and can provide portfolio of their designs, including software, web, and mobile.
• Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Miro, Dovetail and other design tools is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, Photoshop, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
• Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
• Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and an understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
