There are heroes among us, working diligently to protect both people and planet by accelerating transportation electrification. Connect the Watts™ EV Charging Heroes are helping increase access to EV charging infrastructure in communities across the U.S. New fast charging stations build range confidence for current EV drivers, peak curiosity among those considering the switch, and enable local communities to take advantage of the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) by enjoying healthier air quality.

In September 2022, Connect the Watts launched the National EV Charging Recognition Program to honor utilities, site hosts, contractors & engineers, local governments, and equipment manufacturers taking heroic action to electrify our transportation system through the deployment of reliable EV fast charging infrastructure. The inaugural awardees of the National EV Charging Recognition Program, also known as EV Charging Heroes, were announced during a virtual event in late January and include leading site hosts, utilities and contractors.

Today, we’re shining a light on each EV Charging Hero by sharing brief profiles of each organization so we can all learn from their success.

Do you know an organization that deserves recognition?

We expect to share information on the next National EV Charging Recognition Program award cycle later this year. EVgo plans to publicize recognition criteria for each sector in advance of the application period, accept submissions through an open form, and distribute awards in early 2024.

To be one of the first to know about the upcoming award cycle, join the Connect the Watts community.
